Urbanisation Hoya de La Mora is set in 98.000 m2 of land overlooking the small inland village of Velez de Benaudalla in the province of Granada. The location offers panoramic views to the surrounding counytryside with the snowcapped Sierra Nevada mountain range as a spectacular backdrop. The village is situated just 12 kilometres from the coastal resort of Salobreña with its beaches and Golf Course whilst the main town of Motril is nearby. Granada with its world famous Alhambra Palace, international ski resort and airport, is just 30 minutes drive. It is also well placed for both Malaga and Almeria airports. In the next two years the remaining motorway links will be completed allowing quick and easy access to the Costa del Sol, Andalucia and the rest of Spain.

How to get to the development

Main Road Access

See the maps below for a general guide. There are two entrances into the village, one from the north and another from the south. If coming from the south on the original main road (Motril or Salobreña) follow the signs from the main road into the village of Velez de Benaudalla. At the first junction in the village, go straight on, go over the small roundabout by the church and proceed to the first turning on your right. Go up the hill, follow the sharp hair-pin bend, on passing some new terraced houses on on your left you will see a new tarmaced road into the urbanisation to your left. This is the entrance to Hoya de La Mora.

If coming from the north (Granada), follow the signs from the main road for Velez de Benaudalla. After crossing the bridge turn right at the restaurant and follow the road to the village. Upon entering the village take the first turning on your left and go up the hill, follow the sharp hair-pin bend, on passing some new terraced houses on your left you will see a new tarmaced road to your left. This is the entrance to Hoya de La Mora.

New Motorway

As of summer 2009, the motorway running south from Granada to Motril, by-passing Velez de Benaudalla, is now open, and the village is clearly sign posted. There are two access points into the village from the motorway, one north and the other south of the village.

The Mediterranean coastal motorway currently runs from Málaga east to Almuñecar, the most recent section from Almuñecar to Nerja having opened in summer of 2009.
